Victorian Land Use Information System (VLUIS) 2023/24 Release 2

The Victorian Land Use Information System (VLUIS) 2023/24 Release 2 is a statewide, parcel-based dataset describing land tenure, land use and land cover across Victoria. It updates information from the VLUIS 2021/22 Release 3 dataset using contemporary cadastral, tenure, vegetation, public land management, planning, forestry and plantation, irrigation, energy, transport, field-mapping and remotely sensed information. Land use is represented using VLUIS simplified and detailed classes, translated to Australian Valuation Property Classification Codes and Australian Land Use and Management Classification Version 8 codes. Annual land cover for 2023/24 and 2024/25 is associated with parcels as dominant and subdominant classes. The product is supplied as an ESRI Shapefile.

The VLUIS dataset has been created by the Spatial Information Sciences Group of the Agriculture Victoria Science and Technology Division in the Victorian Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA). VLUIS datasets are available for access through https://datashare.maps.vic.gov.au/, and have previously been published for 2006/07, 2008/09, 2010/11, 2012/13, 2014/15,2016/17 and 2021/22. Variation in methods and classification approaches between datasets should be considered.

VLUIS2324_R2 replaces any previous versions of VLUIS2324.
